The Crucible by Arthur Miller

The Crucible tells the true story of the witch hunts and trials that took place in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1692 and the fate of each character in the play is exactly that of his or her historical model. The play endures as a prescient warning against all forms of tyranny, one that reverberates with fresh power in each culture and generation.

This Hull Playgoers’ production is a joint venture with the Drama Department of Kingswood Academy and, in addition to the sixteen adult characters, the roles of the girls at the centre of the story will be played by a team of twelve very talented young performers.
